This procedures is intended to update and streamline our policy and procedure for disability registration. This document covers disability registration for people of all ages in Hampshire, who may or may not be service users. The aim of the procedure is to provide a framework underpinning work on sexual health and education by Social Services staff with service users in all three sectors of the Department.18/05 Scheme of delegations - older persons and adult services
The purpose of the scheme of delegation is to indicate the level at which decisions can be taken. It indicates that certain decisions cannot be taken below this level, and this is the level at which decisions of this kind will normally be taken. It does not imply however, that decisions are taken in isolation and without consultation. Staff at all levels are expected to consult and take advice as appropriate. In some instances a certain level of consultation is prescribed. The purpose of this procedure is to make explicit the procedures relating to the provision and purchasing of services relating to adults as they age and to inform practice before and after they become the responsibility of older people’s services. The procedure relates to adults who are reaching 65 years and those who are ageing prematurely. In accordance with the Gloucestershire Judgement and the National Service Framework for Older People’s standards on age discrimination, the valuing of individual rights of older people to make choices about their own care, is critical. The procedure is particularly relevant to the role of the Team Managers and Care Managers of adult teams and older persons teams and to those who provide services for this group of people
- 29/03 The transition of young disabled people aged 14-25 years of age
The purpose of this procedure is to make explicit the planning and review processes for young disabled people and to support the move from adolescence to adulthood, ensuring a smooth move from children's to adult services. The procedure is designed to assist the assessment of need and the planning and targeting of resources, to those young people most in need of services; specifically young people with severe learning and/or profound physical or sensory disabilities. The procedure relates to young disabled people aged 14 to 25 years old.

The procedure describes the responsibilities of managers who take charge of students before, during and after work experience placements.32/00 Raw egg policy (replaces section 9 of Food Policy 19/98)
This procedure informs the department of a change in the raw egg policy for Social Services. To comply with guidelines issued by the Department of Health and legislation such as the Food Safety Act 1990 and the Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 1995. Hampshire County Council will under no circumstances serve raw or undercooked egg or egg dishes to service users or customers. The raw egg policy shall be complied with by all food handlers whilst working for or on behalf of Hampshire Social Services. The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 makes it a duty to ensure that all staff, visitors and service users are protected as far as is reasonably practicable from the risks from cross infection of micro organisms while at a Social Services workplace.
