Adult Services Procedure 19/10

This manual will evolve during the next year with the implementation of self directed support and future transformation of the way in which OT services are delivered in Hampshire. It will be updated to take account of any changes to the business process.

Please print these procedures with caution as it may mean your copy becomes out of date and may not be the latest version.

Occupational Therapy Practice

This procedure lays down specific requirements of Occupational Therapy (OT) practice within Hampshire County Council (HCC) that are not covered by other departmental procedures. It should be used in conjunction with the OT Handbook, an intranet link only accessible to HCC staff whilst logged onto Hantsnet pages. The OT Handbook is an overall guide to best practice for OTs working for HCC.

Occupational Therapy is an allied healthcare profession that is regulated by the UK Health Professions Council (HPC). OTs are required to meet the standards for the profession as laid down by both the HPC and the College of Occupational Therapists (COT) in order to maintain their registration with the HPC and be able to use the title “Occupational Therapist”.
