Locality Housing Officers

Locality Housing Officers (LHO) are Adult Services staff based in housing departments at your local district council office. ( for example, the Winchester LHO is based at Winchester City Council). They work with clients directly and liaise with care managers, care co-ordinators and housing staff to find the right housing and care solution for the individual.

Part of their role is to enable service users to move towards a more independent  way of living, by being able to access the housing most suitable for them. They ensure that a care and support package put together for a service user is viable and sustainable.

Locality Housing Officers are also involved with Supported Housing Panels that operate in every district across the county which provide a referral route into supported housing.
