• Moving and handling - enabling a person to transfer safely from one place to another

• Occupational therapist - practical, problem solvers who are trained to work with you to help find solutions to things you find difficult

• Personal care - washing, dressing and using the toilet

• Primary Care Trust (PCT) - oversees healthcare provision in Hampshire

• Residential home - home that offers residents 24 hours a day personal care. Some also provide nursing care by qualified staff

• Respite - a break for a carer to have some time to themselves
