Assisted bathing

If you are unable to have a bath in your own home the Extra Care housing scheme can provide an assisted bathing service to older people who:

  • are over 55 in line with the Lettings policy at the scheme
  • cannot use their own facilities without help
  • or do not have inadequate bathing facilities

The assisted bathrooms are equipped so that people with mobility issues are able to enjoy a bath in a safe, relaxing and homely environment and lasts for one hour.

Location: Juniper Court, Cunningham Drive, Gosport, PO13 0YF.
Availability: 2pm and 5pm - Monday to Thursday and Saturday and Sunday.
There is no bathing service on Friday's.
Cost: £13.50 Customers must pay by cash the total charge on the day to Guinness Care & Support staff.

Any requests for the service for users under 55 will be considered on an individual basis and should be discussed with Guinness Care & Support before referral.

How to request a service

Referrals for the service should ideally come from a statutory or support agency so that relevant personal information can be shared easily and any risks identified.

However you can complete and email a referral form yourself but you must disclose any information relevant to the risk assessment:

  • Bookings must be made in advance and any cancellation requires 24 hours notice where possible
  • You will need to provide your own transport
  • You will have to provide your own toiletries

You are most welcome to use other services at the scheme including the restaurant, hairdresser or social activities in the Maple Lounge or Mulberry Room at Juniper Court, please ring 01329 220597 for more details about the services available.
