Anyone may become disabled, suddenly through accident, gradually through illness, and some people are disabled from birth.
If you have a disability or long-term condition, there are many organisations who may be able to help you stay as independent as possible. Use this information to decide what support you need. It is important that you make choices that are right for you to live the life you want.
Positive Partnerships 2014
A strategy for support and care for people with a physical disability, long term neurological condition and/or a sensory impairment.
The Adult Services Framework for the Provision of Short Breaks (Respite) 68 kB defines a short break, sets out the context within which they are provided and explains the standards for provision. It applies to all adults (aged 18 years and over) with a physical impairment, long term neurological condition and/or a sensory impairment, irrespective of their age.
