Autism cards

Did you know that people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are 7 times more likely to have contact with the Criminal Justice System than someone not on the spectrum? (Research by Curry, et al, 1993).

Autism cards are available to support people with ASD should they find themselves in any type of contact with the police. They should be carried at all times and can be displayed if the individual finds themselves in a situation where they cannot easily explain their behaviour. It will also assist the emergency services to identify that they are dealing with someone with autism.

Cards are available from autistic societies, such as

National Autistic Society

Hampshire Autistic Society
