Accreditation

Hampshire County Council needs to ensure that providers, or potential providers, of Supporting People services are suitable organisations.

The guidance produced by the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG), states that an accreditation framework should ensure that providers meet five criteria:

have competent administrative procedures that are able to properly handle and account for Supporting People grant
have effective employment policies to cover staff development, staff supervision and the health and safety of both staff and service users
have sufficiently robust management procedures to provide Supporting People services
are able to demonstrate a track record or competence to deliver services

Applicants accepted onto the Register will have been assessed as meeting the agreed criteria covered by the application process. The criteria are designed to ensure the competence and suitability of an Applicant as a party with whom the County Council may contract. Where tenders are invited from the Register, it is not necessary for the competence and suitability of Tenderers to be investigated afresh.

Providers on the Register will be notified of all services to be tendered by Supporting People, including those where support and care are to be jointly provided

The Register is refreshed every three years. The period of the current Register is 1st April 2012 to 31st March 2015. By admitting new providers and removing those that do not continue to fulfil the minimum criteria outlined in this application form, the composition of the Register may change annually during the three year period.

The Register will be opened annually for a period of at least 14 days for new applications and successful Applicants would be accepted onto the Register for the remainder of the period up to 31st March 2015.

The open period will be advertised each year in October. In addition to advertising the opportunity in various press publications, it will be advertised using the County’s Tendering Opportunities website, In Tend. As such, it is advised that organisations register themselves on the In Tend website where full details of how to do this can be found.
