Policy and information
The Armed Forces Community Welfare Pathway underpins the commitments set out in the Service Personnel Command paper
The Welfare Pathway will:
- provide improved information for individuals on the availability of support services within and beyond the County Council
- improve partnership working to fill existing gaps in provision and overlaps between the County Council, Armed Forces, Health and other support services
- enhance the training available to service leavers
- ensure people leaving the Armed Forces are better equipped to deal with civilian life particularly those suffering from physical or psychological injuries
- engage with groups such as the Nepalese community in Hampshire and others
The aims of the Community Covenant include:
- encouraging local communities to support the Armed Forces Community in their areas, and vice versa
- promoting understanding and awareness amongst the public of issues affecting the Armed Forces Community
- recognising and remember the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces Community; and
- encouraging activities which help to integrate the Armed Forces Community into local life
