Age Concern Hampshire

Golf challenge

It is important to keep active both physically and mentally and ensure regular social contact;  golf is an ideal way to do this. Age Concern Hampshire run an annual event, writing to all clubs in Hampshire to encourage them to take part. Those clubs that do participate send a donation for each finalist to cover the cost of the event and to help with our work for older people in Hampshire.

45 finalists from 30 clubs took part in Age Concern Hampshire's 2011 Golf Challenge held at Southampton City in September, on a very interesting course. The day stayed fine and all participants thoroughly enjoyed their golf. Southampton City Golf Club was very helpful and Bowlers Restaurant provided an excellent buffet meal in the evening for all those present.

The overall winner was Brian Davies from Sandford Springs Golf Club.

The 2012 golf challenge will be held at Andover Golf Club on 6th September
