Meon Valley centre news
On the 20th April two keen walkers, namely Ray Smith and Brian Baker, set out to do the Pilgrims Way Walk from Winchester to Bishops Waltham in aid of Meon Valley Day Centre minibus replacement fund. The pair endured rain and hailstones. After a short welcome lunch at Owslebury, the intrepid pair arrived back at their destination five hours later. They managed to raise the amazing amount of £500. Well done Ray and Brian! Thank you from all of us.
The Jumble Sale at the Village Hall on the 26th May was very hard work but we raised £237.59 to top up the amenity fund. We also held at Open Day on the 12th June to raise awareness and the profile of the centre. Thank you to Sam who spent the day here, and also the three lovely ladies from the Red Cross who gave all the service users a nice bit of pampering. Thank you also to the two new in post care managers from Adult Services who came for the afternoon session. It would have been nice to have had more visitors but it was still a lovely day.
