Hampshire Archives and Local Studies

About Hampshire Archives and Local Studies

We are part of Hampshire County Council's Recreation and Heritage department and one of the busiest archive services in the country.

Our collections have been Designated by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council as a collection of national and international importance.

We set high standards and regularly monitor our performance against our published targets. The achievement of Charter Mark status in 1999, and its successful renewal in 2002 and 2005, is a mark of excellence in public service which we particularly value, since it is based on what our users think of us.
