Before you visit us we advise you to check our online catalogue or list of commonly used documents to see whether we have what you are looking for. There is no charge for visiting us and consulting records.

We can offer advice and information about conducting your research, and about the availability and use of our records.

Paid research

If you require us to carry out research on your behalf we charge £25 per hour, payable in advance. Research will be considered only if submitted on a Research application form 46kb pdf.

NB We charge for time spent on research not on results. You may request searches of 1 or 2 hours per application. There is also a half hour option for limited searches such as a baptism in a small parish over 5-10 years or one address in several electoral registers.

Paid research will be completed within one calendar month of receiving it - you will be advised of the date of receipt.
