Campus Network Arts Project

Since January 2012 three Fareham schools have been collaborating with one of the UK's leading integrated dance companies to create a choreographic work for performance at the Ashcroft Arts Centre.

Working twice a week with StopGAP Dance Company, pupils from Ranvilles Juniors, Heathfield Special school, St Francis Special School joined together to work on their first ever collaborative project ‘Collab-nation’, which was performed at the Ashcroft Arts Centre in March.

This three month collaboration aimed to celebrate difference, increase tolerance and extend understanding of families and pupils with disabilities. The resulting choreography was truly spectacular and all young people involved thoroughly enjoyed the process, giving them a chance to share school resources, knowledge and build new friendships.

The project was organised by Gaynor Davies Consultancy and made possible thanks to Big Lottery funding and Creative Partnerships. Millstream Productions were involved in the filming of the project to create a lasting record of the project.
