We are looking for volunteers to help the rangers out on the canal and the office team in the Visitor Centre at Mytchett.

If you like being outdoors and would like to help carry out light maintenance tasks (vegetation management, painting, clearing litter and controlling invasive plant species) our ranger led volunteer days run from 10am and 3pm on Tuesdays. These days take place along the length of the Basingstoke Canal – from Greywell in the west to Woodham in the east.

We can also run corporate volunteer days for groups of colleagues who would like to spend the day in the great outdoors helping us care for the canal.

If you’d rather be indoors we are looking for help in the Visitor Centre at Mytchett where you would be part of our ‘front of house’ team. This could involve meeting and greeting visitors, answering questions about the canal and helping out in the shop or with events and activities.

No previous experience necessary – just lots of enthusiasm – full training provided.
