Corporate Biodiversity Programme
Hampshire County Council's vision for biodiversity and our natural environment:
'A rich and diverse natural environment, where wildlife is conserved and the benefits of nature are available to everyone'
Before becoming a partner of International Year of Biodiversity, in 2006 the County Council joined Countdown 2010 - the European pledge to try to halt the loss of biodiversity by 2010. The biodiversity programme is set out in Conserving Nature for the Community, our Corporate Biodiversity Action Plan.
The County Council is committed to ensuring that biodiversity is intrinsic to sustainable development activity across its services from planning and highways to land management, recreation, education and social care.
