Blue Badge Disabled Parking Scheme
Changes to Mobility Assessments
From 1 April 2012, the way assessments are carried out will be changed. For those people who do not automatically qualify for a badge, independent mobility assessments may be required, instead of the previous GP assessments. These will be undertaken by independent medical professionals (who are not involved in the care of the applicant) with expertise in mobility.
If we are able to process your application immediately based on the information you have given us you will receive your badge within 4 weeks of us receiving your application or, if you applied early you will receive it 2 weeks before your current badge's expiry date.
If you receive your new badge before the current badge's expiry date, it is only valid from the start date appearing on the badge.
The Blue Badge fee
The fee for new and existing badges is £10
The fee for a replacement badge is £4.60
