Hampshire Broadband Maps
Commercial investment across Hampshire will see 80% of properties given access to superfast broadband services. Hampshire County Council has awarded a contract to BT Openreach to extend this coverage to 90% of properties by the end of 2015. The County Council understands how important access to better broadband is for residents in rural areas, and we are working on plans to extend coverage to at least 95% of premises by the end of 2017.
The Big Picture
This map shows a high level view, or forecast, of the 90% coverage area by the end of 2015. We will be publishing detailed maps for each phase as we enter deployment.
The map is divided into three colours:
- Grey - The extent of superfast broadband coverage provided by BT and Virgin via their own investment – roughly 80% of premises across Hampshire
- Green - Extending coverage to 90% of premises. 57,500 premises to be covered by Wave One of Hampshire’s Superfast Broadband project by the end of 2015
- Yellow - The location of the 57,500 premises still to be covered
Delivery will be broken down into 7 phases and we will publish details for each phase as they become available.
