Action Adventure Days

During most school holiday periods, we  run our incredibly popular Action Adventure days. We would recommend booking early to get the day you prefer as courses fill up very quickly. Activities will usually include a mix of some of the described below.

Calshot is approved by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority to provide a wide range of activities to young people. We conform to the strict guidelines laid down by all the major sporting governing bodies. All Centre staff are highly trained and experienced and will both instruct and supervise groups for the duration of the day.

Rushing Rockets

Watch as your rockets fly through the air at various different obstacles

Beach Scavenge

Find creepy creatures on the beach, make your own beach art and look out for pirates through the binoculars.

High Ropes

Various new exciting elements to get the adrenaline pumping.

Traversing

Experiencing the fun of climbing across our low level climbing walls, playing games and completing challenges. Please note that this is not climbing upwards with a rope.

Egg Drop

In this challenge you have to drop an egg from a great height!
The skill is to design and build a protective cover so that the egg doesn't break! Whose egg will survive the longest?

Climbing & Bouldering

Whatever standard of climbing you have reached, you can be guaranteed a challenge with walls from 6m to 11m high. Alternatively if you want to experience the thrill of climbing at lower heights, then bouldering is for you!

Archery & Shooting

Test your aiming skills and go for gold!

Skiing & Snowboarding

Whether you’ve done it before or not, with three different slopes, we can help you progress rapidly.

Track Cycling

You’ve seen them in the Olympics racing round the track, now try for yourself on one of only three indoor velodromes in the UK.

Orienteering

Find hidden clues around the site, in this navigation challenge.

Ski Bob

Master some high-speed manoeuvres on our purpose-built ski bob sledges

What should I bring?

Make sure you have warm outdoor clothing. Long socks, a long sleeved top and trousers will be needed for track cycling and ‘snow’ activities.

For watersports you will need to bring a towel, swimming costume/trunks (to wear underneath our wetsuits) and some sturdy footwear that you don't mind getting wet (no Crocs or flip-flops). We provide all specialist clothing and equipment.

How to book/payment

Bookings can be made in advance, either in person, tel 023 8089 2077 (8.30am-7pm, Monday to Friday,8.30am-4.45pn weekends); all payments must be made at the time of booking, Payment by cash can be made via the Visitor Centre during normal office hours.
We also accept MasterCard, Visa and Maestro. We cannot accept cheques.

Booking Conditions

Unfortunately we cannot transfer between courses after booking
Cancellation by client - No refund will be made.
Change of date/option counts as a cancellation

Calshot reserves the right to cancel any course if the bookings do not reach a viable level. Calshot also reserves the right to exclude individuals from activiti, without refund, if their behaviour compromises the safety or enjoyment of the group. Programmes may be adapted due to weather conditions on the day.

 
 

No Limits - Enabling young people with disabilities and their siblings

Our successful 'No Limits' days for young people with disabilities and their siblings, are completely inclusive , using variations of standard and adaptive equipment, depending on each individual's ability.

We aim to allow all abilities to participate together as a team. These courses are funded through the HCC Aiming High for Disabled Children program.

During school holiday periods we generally offer one and two-day Climbing courses for young people.

Barnacles courses 7 -10yr olds

9am-4.30pm, £45 including lunch

Booking

If the booking is for under 18 years, a medical declaration must be completed by next-of-kin.
