Calshot Castle open from 1 April
We are pleased to announce that Calshot Castle will be open to members of the public from 1 April until 30 September 2014, from 10.30am until 4.30pm every day.
Built by Henry VIII in 1539, Calshot Castle forms part of a chain of coastal defences running along the south coast of England. More recently, the castle was used during both the First and Second World Wars when RAF Calshot provided channel defence and training for pilots of seaplanes. The castle is now owned by English Heritage and managed in partnership with Calshot Activities Centre.
Why not combine a visit to the castle with a pit stop in our newly opened Café Bar where you will find a range of drinks, snacks and meals? The castle itself offers a range of ice-creams and spectacular views of the Solent and Calshot Beach from the roof.
