Employment Information

HC3S employs approximately 1500 staff within school kitchens across the whole of Hampshire in primary, special, secondary schools and colleges.

We are always looking for enthusiastic people who can work over the lunchtime period to help prepare and serve lunches to pupils at our schools and colleges.

We are looking for customer orientated people who like working as part of a small team in a school environment and often have vacancies for the roles shown below.

Primary School Jobs

Unit Supervisor

You will supervise and take part in the provision of a cost effective service to primary schools.  You will prepare, cook and pack (as appropriate) the required amount of nutritionally balanced meals and serve them to our customers at the correct time.

You will also supervise the team in the kitchen and be responsible for liaising with school representatives to ensure the required service is provided.  Some administration work will also be necessary, as well as helping set up and clear dining room areas and carry out cleaning duties.

Catering Assistant

As a Catering Assistant you will help prepare, cook and pack (as appropriate) meals and help serve them to our customers at the correct time.  In addition you will set up and clear dining room areas and carry out cleaning duties.

The Catering Assistant role is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, has a flexible approach and enjoys working with both adults and children.

Secondary School Jobs

Unit Manager

You will be expected to supervise and take part in the provision of a cost effective catering service in a secondary school.  Our service extends to providing catering for special functions on occasions.

You will prepare, cook and pack (as appropriate) the required amount of nutritionally balanced meals and serve them to our customers at the correct time.

You will also supervise the team in the kitchen and be responsible for marketing the service to the school.  Maintenance of records is required as well as helping set up and clear the dining area and carrying out cleaning duties.

Deputy Unit Manager

You will assist the Unit Manager in providing a cost effective catering service to a secondary school and deputise in their absence.  You will prepare, cook and serve food for on site and transported meals as directed by the Unit Manager.  You will help set up and clear dining area and carry out cleaning duties.

Catering Assistant

As a Catering Assistant you will help prepare, cook and pack (as appropriate) meals and help serve them to our customers at the correct time.  In addition you will set up and clear dining room areas and carry out cleaning duties.

The Catering Assistant role is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, has a flexible approach and enjoys working with both adults and children.
