HC3S

A little more about our food

At HC3S we are very enthusiastic about feeding children well and spend a lot of time working on the menus and ensuring the balance is right.

We ensure we meet the government's nutritional guidelines, and to help us comply with these guidelines, we use a dietician based at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Winchester and also a nutritional computer package to assist us when planning our menus.

During the summer 2005, we were proud to receive the Highest Award for Excellence in School Catering from the Hyperactive Children's Support Group (HACSG).  This award was for our primary school menus and we were the first, and still the only, school meals service to achieve this standard, having removed 70 additives from our products for the autumn term menu.  HC3S is re-accredited annually and continues to follow the HACSG recommendations on additives.

If your child needs a specific medically requested diet, we are also able to offer nut free, wheat and gluten free (coeliac), egg free and dairy free diets.

Finally, we are always happy to hear your comments, suggestions and ideas about improving the meals we offer and if you require any further information, then please contact us and we will be pleased to help.
