The purpose of the Family Placement Staff Manual is to provide a reference manual for all social care staff in Children's Services Department. It covers all information social workers and other child care staff need to have about Hampshire County Council's Fostering Service, about placing a child who needs to live away from home and about meeting that child's needs in foster, or other forms of family based, care. The manual is intended to ensure that all staff working within family placement, or with children living away from home and placed in family based care, are aware of, understand, and work within regulations, standards, policies, procedures and good practice guidelines.
