• Type of vacancy: Maternity Cover
• Hours of work:  - We are currently looking for someone to cover after school club hours 3pm to 6pm Monday to Friday although there may be opportunity for overtime.
• Rate of pay: Minimum wage, to be discussed at interview.

Job Description

To support the work of the manager/supervisor and deputy. Showing an understanding of the early years foundation stage. Complete an ongoing observation record for children for whom you are a 'key person'. To develop and support the children in their own activities that will support the increase of self esteem, self confidence and motivation to learn. To abide and work within the agreed policies and terms and conditions of the club. To help with the day to day set up, providing safe, creative appropriate play opportunities, preparing activities etc. To assist with the planning of sessions. Providing full care for the children including collection from school, providing refreshments. Administering first aid as appropriate (if you are already trained in first aid, if not already trained this will be offered). Encouraging parental involvement and support. Close liaison with parents, schools visitors and other childcare related agencies. To attend in service training sessions, training and development opportunities and staff meetings. Taking part in the day to day administration, record keeping, ordering and purchasing materials and equipment. Full job description available upon application.

The ability to listen to the concerns of children and respond positively. Punctuality and reliability are essential. Motivation and good communication skills. Childcare experience would be advantage but not essential. Safeguarding qualification. A current driving licence.
