Child home alone
What age can I leave my child/children at home?
There is no specified age, however, the parent of the child is responsible for the welfare of that child until they become an adult at 16 years.
The parent is liable for prosecution should anything happen to the child, while left unattended or in the care of another minor under 16 years, as it is regarded that the child has been put ‘at risk’.
