Quality Assurance and Funding Procedures 2011 / 2012

The aim of the quality assurance and funding system is to:

  • increase the number of qualified staff in early years and childcare settings
  • reduce barriers to accessing training
  • ensure training is high quality, accessible and meets learners needs
  • provide quantitative analysis on the use of monies to feedback to DfE
  • enable a collaborative approach for training providers in Hampshire
  • create a solid framework for training which will promote career progression and raise the status of staff in the early years and childcare sector
  • promote the work of and training opportunities provided by the Local Training Groups


The DfE guidelines state that local authorities need to work in partnership with other agencies to maximise funding, the Local Learning and Skills Council is identified as a main source. The SfYC will work in collaboration with training providers to ensure maximum use of funds to reduce training costs.
