Level 3 – course information

The current Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young Peoples Workforce – Early Years Pathway is eligible for a bursary award. The bursary is a one off payment. The bursary will cover a proportion of the Level 3 fees. Please refer to the financial assistance section of this website for further information.

From September 2014 a new level 3 qualification will be introduced by colleges and training providers to meet the Early Years Educator requirements for practitioners who are counted in ratios.  Please ask your local college for more details of this new qualification.

Practitioners with existing ‘full and relevant’ level 3 qualifications do not need to undertake the new Early Years Educator qualification.

Courses can be taught in different ways and it is important that you ask the provider how the course is set-up, for example, will I attend classes with other students?, how will I meet with my tutor on a 1-1 basis? How much contact time will I have with my tutor/assessor? How long will I have to complete my course? Please make sure you take all this information into account when choosing which training provider to enroll with.

Level 3 Award/Certificate/Diploma in Playwork

There are limited opportunities in Hampshire to achieve Playwork qualifications. Independent training providers are often able to deliver them through a work based route as required.
