Visiual Awareness Training

Awareness raising of common eye conditions in the pre school setting.

This half day course raises awareness about children with a visual impairment, those wearing glasses and those having treatment for a squint. It is delivered by a teacher adviser for visual impairment and includes practical activities to simulate poor vision. The course will also help setting staff notice children who are struggling with their vision.

Please note that this course is suitable for staff working with children with the more common and mild visual conditions mentioned above.
If you have a child in your setting with a more severe visual impairment who has been referred to the specialist teacher advisory service, please contact your teacher adviser who will provide bespoke training to setting staff.
