Review of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

The Minister of State for Children and Families, Sarah Teather, has invited Dame Clare Tickell to conduct an independent review of the Early Years Foundation Stage. The review is looking at how best to protect young children's safety and welfare and support their development and learning. The review is being supported by a secretariat of Department for Education officials. The review was announced on 06 July 2010.

Children’s Minister Sarah Teather has asked Dame Clare Tickell, Chief Executive of Action for Children, to carry out a review of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) so that it is less bureaucratic and more focused on young children’s learning and development.
