Anti-bullying Conference 2011
The 2011 conference will take place 14 October at Ashburton Hall, The Castle, Winchester.
This all-day (9 a.m.-3 p.m.) Conference is aimed at Young People in Years 5-11, with opportunities for activities and discussion with each other and their teachers at either primary or secondary tables.
It is called "RICH in our community" - addressing Racism, Image, Cyberbullying and Homophobic bullying.
- Racism (It is a legal requirement to record racist incidents)
- Image (Hampshire pupils report the most frequent form of bullying experienced is verbal abuse about how they look or behave)
- Cyberbullying (This form of bullying is on the increase)
- Homophobic bullying (This often gets ignored)
The aims of the Conference are:
- To inform, enthuse and inspire young people and school staff to address bullying in their schools during Anti-Bullying Week and beyond.
- To showcase and share good practice in Hampshire.
The cost will be £50.00 per school (one member of staff and two pupils) and includes refreshments and lunch.
