What is Hampshire CAMHS?

Hampshire CAMHS focuses on Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and includes all services in Hampshire aiming to promote and restore the emotional, behavioural, psychological and mental health needs of children and young people. The CAMHS Partnership is a partnership between Hampshire County Council’s Children’s Services Department, NHS Hampshire and other organisations who provide support for children and young people with emotional, social, and mental health needs.

Support is provided for children and young people aged 0-18 years by an array of organisations, teams and specialists including: voluntary organisations, schools, pre-schools, school nurses, GPs, Health Visitors, Social Workers, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Psychotherapists, Primary Mental Health Workers, Community Therapists, Behaviour Support Teams, Specialist CAMHS Teams, Education Welfare Officers, Education Inclusion Service and specialist residential services.  These are often represented as part of a loose tiered structure where tier 4 provides support for the most severe and acute needs.
