Children's Services

Hampshire's Children and Young People's Plan

Making it happen

To make the changes in the plan happen, we want to work with you to:

  • make sure you get an excellent education;
  • provide opportunities for learning and play, both at school and in your community;
  • include you in decisions about the services you need, and make these services easy to use;
  • learn from you and your parents/carers, so we know how to do the best for you;
  • celebrate your achievements and act quickly when you need support; and
  • help you build the confidence you need to enjoy life now and in the future.
Provide opportunities for learning and play, both at school and in your community

We will work with your parents and carers to:

  • make information, advice and support available;
  • include them in planning the services you need;
  • provide services that support them in looking after you; and
  • make sure childcare is available when they need it.

We will work with your local community to:

  • support the important role of volunteer and community organisations like sports and youth clubs;
  • protect vulnerable people and tackle crime and anti-social behaviour;
  • make communities safe and welcoming to people of all ages and backgrounds;
  • promote healthy lifestyles and improve people’s quality of life;
  • work with rural communities to ensure everyone can get the services they need; and
  • make Hampshire a good place to live by helping people enjoy being part of their local community.
