Why have we made a plan for children and young people?

We want all children and young people in Hampshire to have the best possible start in life. We want to ensure that the whole community supports you as you grow up and become independent.

Plus we want everyone, including those who are vulnerable or disadvantaged, to have the same chances.

For that to happen, we know we have to:

• reduce the effects of poverty;
• help you to live healthy lifestyles and reduce inequalities;
• give you the chance to learn and enjoy success;
• make sure you feel safe and confident;
• provide opportunities for relaxation, fun and sport within the community; and
• make sure that these things are available to everyone and that there is no discrimination or abuse.
