YouthTube - for young people in Hampshire

Internships Plus

Hampshire County Council's Internships Plus Traineeship programme offers opportunities to care leavers and vulnerable young people, who are NEET and aged 16-23 (up to 25 for those with a Learning Difficulty Assessment or Education Health & Care Plan)

The programme follows the government's traineeship model and the core elements are:

  • a high quality work experience placement with Hampshire County Council or one of its partner organisations
  • a focused period of work preparation training to include: CV writing; interview preparation; job search; inter-personal skills
  • Functional Skills in English and Maths, which are seen as crucial employability skills: all young people without a Grade C or above at GCSE, or a Level 2 Functional Skills qualification if aged 19 or above, will be required to complete this training as part of their internship

Support

Trainees will be paid a bursary and will receive ongoing help, advice and guidance to enable them to gain maximum benefit from the programme, and to help them progress into work or further training on completion.
