Year 11 careers guidance interview survey
Thank you to all those who took part in the Year 11 careers guidance survey, which asked you to respond to some questions about the careers interview you received in Year 11.
The winner of the free prize draw
We are pleased to announce that William Talmage from the Test Valley is the winner of the prize draw, which was drawn form those who completed the survey. William has won an 8GB iPod Touch which was presented to him by Richard Watson from the Test Valley Youth Support Services Team
We wish William all the very best for his future career.
The survey
The survey has provided some very useful feedback, which is being analysed in detail to help careers advisers provide the very best advice and guidance to young people.
Of those completing the survey:
96% felt that their point of view was respected by the careers adviser
87% agreed that the careers adviser asked them what they wanted to discuss
84% rated the advice and guidance given as good, or very good.
The survey also gave us some ideas on how we can better present action plans for young people that are completed after the careers interview. This will be looked at to improve the quality of our service to young people.
Here are some comments that young people made about how the careers interview helped to influence their decisions:
“It gave me motivation to find a job after leaving school and made me believe that I was capable to achieve any goals I had.”
“It helped me pick a wide range of courses which kept my options open for university.”
“ I took her advice on board and chose to live my dreams.”
