Adoption in Hampshire

Provided by the Children's Services Department

Adoption Services

We welcome prospective adopters from all sections of the community regardless of race, culture, sexuality and relationship status.

We hold regular information sessions should you wish to find out more about adoption.

In Hampshire, we currently need adoptive families who can look after:

  • large sibling groups (particularly of three or more children)
  • children with significant complex needs and/or disabilities.

Updated 14 May 2012

If you feel you have the skills to meet our current needs we would very much like to hear from you. However, given these priorities you may feel that this is not the right time to apply.

Many people who approach us to become an adoptive parent have a lot of potential but not all are interested in our current priorities. Please do not be discouraged if this is the case.

You may wish to consider a neighbouring authority or voluntary agency who may have different recruitment needs.

Our website is regularly updated to outline our specific requirements.
