Adoption
Hampshire County Council Adoption Service welcomes contact from people who are interested in adopting. You may have a general enquiry about adopting a child or a specific enquiry about step-parent, overseas or private adoption.

Support services are offered to adoptive families, to birth families whose children have been adopted to children and adults who have been adopted and to people wanting to place their child for adoption.
Wherever possible Hampshire Children's Services are committed to supporting children within their birth families. Unfortunately it is not always possible for children to be brought up by their birth parents and adoption is one way of providing them with a new permanent family.
ContactPoint is a national contact list for people who work with children & young people, providing them with a quick way to find out who else is working with the same child.
In order to improve our service delivery we are realigning our recruitment social workers alongside our area social workers who work directly with children. This will ensure we are more locally based and will be able to offer a holistic service to our service users. In order to achieve this, there may be some upheaval and we would ask you to please bear with us during this transitional period. However if you do experience any difficulties, please contact Hazel Chapman, County Adoption Recruitment Manager on 01489 587000.
