Adoption
In Hampshire, we need adoptive families who can look after children aged 2+, sibling groups (particularly of three or more) and children of any age who may have a disability, learning difficulty or a medical condition.
Hampshire County Council's Adoption Service welcomes contact from people who are interested in adopting. You may have a general enquiry about adopting a child or a specific enquiry about step-parent, overseas or private adoption.
Support services are offered to adoptive families, to birth families whose children have been adopted, children and adults who have been adopted and people wanting to place their child for adoption.
Wherever possible Hampshire Children's Services are committed to supporting children within their birth families. It is not always possible for children to be brought up by their birth parents and adoption is one way of providing them with a new permanent family.
