If you are thinking of giving up your child for adoption, you will need to talk to a social worker about adoption and potential alternative arrangements which you might like to consider, such as arrangements for your child to be cared for within the wider family or support to enable you to look after your child at home.

If you decide to go ahead with placing your child for adoption you will receive full information about the process, and receive support to enable you to be as fully involved as possible in the arrangements for your child's future. This could involve meeting with the future potential adoptive parents if you wish and planning for any future contact between you and your child.
