I am interested in adopting
What is adoption?
Adoption is a way of providing children with an alternative family when they cannot live with their birth family.
Hampshire welcomes applications for adoption from people from all walks of life. We aim to provide you with information about why children need adoption and the process of becoming an adopter in Hampshire.
Hampshire County Council is a large and experienced adoption agency which places over 50 children a year with adoptive families. Each child is individual and has different needs.
We would be particularly keen to hear from you if you are able to look after older children, children with special needs or feel that you can offer a home to more than one child so that brothers and sisters can live and grow up together.
Further information
If you would like to find out more please contact the County Adoption Team on 01489 587000 and we will arrange for an information pack to be sent to you with an enquiry form.
Once we have received your form you will have the opportunity to discuss your enquiry with a social worker and to attend one of Hampshire's regular information events.
