Young people would like to have the same social worker or significant adult in their life and/or access to an independent advocate who can help them represent their views at meetings.

Young people want:

Hampshire County Council will:

  • Having a friend or supporter who knows us well and who we feel comfortable with;
  • Someone who looks out for our needs;
  • A social / key / youth worker, family, teacher or doctor.
  • Form Children in Care social work teams. This means that you should have a social worker who understands about the care system and who will support you into adulthood without having to change social workers when you become 16.
