Ongoing Support
Foster carers have access to a range of professional support resources to help them with their task, from regular one-to-one visits from a social worker right through to assessing specialist practitioners as well as out-of-hours cover.
Regular support groups provide carers with a chance to get together for training, updates and development activities and a chance to catch up with people who are in the same situation as you. An active foster carer association gives carers a route to express views on policy and practice.
A comprehensive training pathway is available to carers and individual training needs are based on the development of skills and interests.
Families are encouraged to participate as well, with specialist support groups for foster carers own children as well as plenty of activities on offer.
