Our nursery 'Growing Places @ Mill Hill Pre-School is situated within Mill Hill Children’s Centre and next to Waite End Primary School and has close links with both. We have access to the extensive school grounds and the local park for walks and activities. We also have a mini-bus which is fully fitted with seat belts and used when numbers (and the weather) allows us to take the children to local attractions.

We have a secure outside play area with grass, woodland trails, hard standing, digging and growing patches. We feel strongly that the outside environment is a huge teaching tool and when used effectively and regularly, will contribute to the children’s experiences.

The nursery is bright and airy and has a lovely room for the babies (aged from 6 months) and toddlers and a large space for an active pre-school with smaller quiet rooms for small group work.

Parents are encouraged to visit, chat or share concerns with staff at all times. It is important to us that parents feel comfortable and at ease in the nursery.

The nursery aims to offer a high quality, safe, caring environment for your child with effective management ensuring children's individual needs are catered for and their achievements are both recorded and shared with parents regularly.

Staff

Our staff are part of a friendly, well-motivated team and you are assured of a warm welcome. All of our staff are qualified or working towards a qualification in childcare, the majority of our staff are also trained in First Aid. We welcome and support voluntary workers and students as we feel that it is essential to share experiences and good childcare practices. We encourage all staff to continue their own professional development and offer a range of in-house and outside professional training. We were awarded the Investors in People accolade in 2003 and 2006 in recognition of our commitment to staff training and development.

Visiting the nursery

You are very welcome to visit the nursery at any time – but please be aware that at busy periods such as early morning and lunch time, we may not be able to give you the attention you deserve.

Staff are happy to answer any queries you may have and you are welcome to make further visits or phone calls if you require more information.

Once you have decided that we are your choice of nursery, your child will have a place with us until he or she is ready to start reception class at your chosen school.

Growing Places @ Jubilee Corner is managed by Community Childcare Centres, a charitable company established in 2001. Community Childcare Centres currently has four day nurseries in Havant, Waterlooville and Fareham and four out-of-school clubs in Fareham, Waterlooville, Crookhorn and Cowplain and is managed by a Board of Trustees.

We are open 51 weeks a year, from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday.

Our nursery is situated on the site of Mill Hill Primary School and Mill Hill Children's Centre and has close links with both. We have access to the extensive school grounds and the local park for walks and activities. We also have access to a minibus which is fully fitted with seatbelts. When numbers and the weather allow, we use the minibus to take children to local attractions such as Staunton Country Park, Fort Nelson and sometimes further afield.

We have a secure outside play area with grass, woodland trails, hard standing, digging and growing patches. We feel strongly that the outside environment is a huge teaching tool and when used effectively and regularly, will contribute to the children’s experiences.

Children gardening

The nursery has four rooms for babies, toddlers, pre-school and a quiet room for small group work. The nursery has annual open evenings for each room and parents are invited to make an appointment to chat about their child’s development with the staff and read through their child’s files. Parents are encouraged to visit, chat or share concerns with staff at all times, it is important to us that parents feel comfortable and at ease in the nursery.

The nursery aims to offer a high quality, safe, caring environment for your child with effective management ensuring children’s individual needs are catered for and their achievements are both recorded and shared with parents regularly.
