Schools and colleges
In August 2005 the Education Department combined with the Children and Family section of Social Services to form Children's Services.
Hampshire has 541 schools, serving 171,000 pupils and is committed to improving standards in teaching and learning.
Parents must ensure that their school-age children receive full-time education suitable to their age, ability and any special educational needs they may have.
