Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important things you will have to do as a parent. The revised Schools Admissions Code and Schools Admissions Appeals Code strengthen the admissions system to ensure that children and families are at its centre, that it is a straightforward as possible for parents, and that all schools have fair and lawful admission arrangements.
However, the process of choosing and applying for school can still be confusing. Choice Advice in Hampshire aims to make fair access a reality for parents, empowering them to make informed and realistic choices about which schools to apply for.
The role of Choice Advice in Hampshire is to:
act independently from the Local Authority
work with families to understand their child's needs and interests
provide and explain a range of information
advise on policies and procedures
advise parents, not decide for them
