Moving from primary to secondary school is a significant time for any child and their parents.  The Choice Advice webpage aims to help you make the best and most realistic choice of secondary school for your child - there is also a leaflet Download Acrobat Reader to view this PDF 138kb available which explains the service.

This webpage offers:

  • help with deciding which schools to apply for
  • guidance with completing the application form
  • deadline for return
  • where to send the application form.

Secondary school applications will need to be made early in the Autumn Term of Year 6 so its best to start thinking about secondary school when your child is in Year 5.

Please note:  Admission to secondary school is not automatic, so to give your child the best chance of getting into the secondary school of your choice, you have to complete an application form and make sure it’s returned on time.
