The Coastal Population of Hampshire
The population of the towns and villages on the Hampshire coast totals around 835,731, an increase of more than one-third since 1951. The following graph and table show the population of the Hampshire coast from 1951 to 2001.

The figures include all the administrative areas of Southampton, Portsmouth, Fareham, Gosport and Havant; in Eastleigh the parishes of Bursledon, Hamble-le-Rice and Hound; and in the New Forest the parishes of Beaulieu, Boldre, Exbury & Lepe, Fawley, Hythe & Dibden, Lymington & Pennington, Marchwood, Milford-on-Sea, New Milton, and Totton & Eling.
