You can use the Internet to find out what is on at your local cinema. You can also book your tickets online.

The quickest way to find out what's on is to do a search in a search engine like Google.

If you search on cinema in Google you will get another search box "Find movie show times".

Enter your post code or town and it will bring up a list of your local cinemas and what is on.

Buying tickets

The advantage of booking your tickets on line are:

• you can pick your seats
• there may be special offers
• no queues
• book in advance.

To book your tickets you need to go to you need to find your cinema's website - do this by doing a search.

You will be asked to choose the film you would like to see, your showing time and where you would like to sit (you will also be able to purchase disabled & luxury seats if available).

If you're unsure what you would like to see, most websites will allow you to watch movie trailers and read plots and reviews.

Once you've decided on your movie you will need to give some personal details, these include:

• your name
• address
• your email address
• debit or credit card details.
