Instant messaging is a great way to keep in contact with friends and family all over the world

What is instant messaging
Instant messaging software allows you to talk to someone in real time by typing and receiving messages.
It allows you to find out when your friends are online and It is more immediate than an e-mail.
There are different Instant Messaging programs, but you only need one version to 'chat' with others.

Windows Live Messenger

- send documents through messaging
- talk to friends instantly
- have group conferences
- have video and audio conversations
- add friends with yahoo messenger
- send e-mails to contacts
- send messages to mobiles.

Yahoo messenger
With Yahoo messenger you can:
- talk to friends instantly
- have video and audio conversations
- add friends with yahoo messenger
- send e-mails to contacts
- transfer files through messenger
- play games with your friends whilst chatting
- pc-to-pc calls.
