Education statistics  

Hampshire County Council works with 541 schools serving over 170,000 pupils. The schools range from a 46 pupil rural primary, to a 2102 pupil secondary. Current education expenditure is over £724m per annum and the LEA is committed to improving standards in teaching and learning across the county.

We have:

• 3 nursery schools and 12 nursery units with 360 (full time equivalent) pupils
• 433 primary schools with 96,924 pupils
• 71 secondary schools with 72,720 pupils including 1,720 pupils taught in secondary school sixth forms
• 27 special schools with 2,240 pupils
