Reviewing what we do
In addition to maintaining high standards in everything we do, it is also important for us to take a step back from everyday work and consider whether there are more efficient, effective and economical ways of doing things.
We have a single Corporate Review Programme which brings together a schedule of the strategic and cross-cutting reviews we are engaged in, enabling service reviews to be covered by the service planning regime.
The programme is based on the premise that there are several reasons for review activity which may cause them to be included in our corporate review programme:
Looking for ways to resolve a known / perceived problem
Identifying ways to improve a service or function, looking at efficiency, economy and effectiveness
Evaluating a pilot or trial before further roll-out or development
Comparing a service or function against an example of best practice, or standards
Triggers for identifying review topics include: performance results, audit / inspection recommendations, comparative studies, survey results and Member / stakeholder interest.
